Our Team

Nicole Shemwell is founder and Director of BTO Florida. Nicole is a Texas native but resides in Jacksonville, Florida. Nicole is a hands on support system for anyone she comes in contact with and is known for her generosity and hard work in Duval County. Nicole believes that no matter where a person comes from, they are sure to succeed if they have access to opportunities and mentorship. Nicole is a true definition of Beating the Odds by graduating high school as a teen mom.

In addition to running BTO, Nicole is the owner of Jacksonville's 1st African American Trichology Business Advanced Hair Care. She holds a Bachelors Degree from Jacksonville University and is a certified life coach.  Nicole is not one to shy away from new opportunities, and is currently in the process of pursing her Doctorate in Naturopathy. 

Not only does she serve the community, Nicole takes pride in her amazing family and is a cheerleader to her husband and two children. She is a women of faith and a proud member of Kingdom Influencers, an organization that uplifts women through ministry.

Jessica Miller is president of BTO and currently running operations in Houston, Texas for the organization. Jessica believes every high school student has the right to know their career and college options. She also believes that mentorship can help build togetherness and community leaders. 

In addition to running BTO, Jessica is an Assessment and Data specialist in Aldine ISD in Houston, Texas. She has taught high school English for 6 years and served as Culture Leader on her campus for 2 years. Jessica holds a Master's degree in Education from Houston, Baptist University, and is pursuing her principal certification from Lamar University.

Not only is she a beacon of light in the educational realm. Jessica is a woman of faith and attends Blueridge United Methodist Church. Lastly, she is a member of Kingdom Influencers a faith-based organization that uplifts women through ministry.
